The BAND Group presents
TART
adapted and directed by Adrian Lopez-Ballbontin
This radical adaptation of Moliere's classic comedy Tartuffe resets the action from Orgon’s stately home in 17th Century France to backstage at his gay nightclub in the present day, where Orgon’s family of friends, lovers, and drag performers unite to try and save him from the “salvation” offered by the moral crusader Tartuffe. TART is a shockingly funny yet serious examination of hypocrisy in a dazzling package of slapstick comedy, rhyming couplets, and drag numbers. This production benefits the St. Paul-based nonprofit Reclaim, which helps queer and trans youth reclaim their self-worth and lead happy, productive lives.
TART runs June 1-16, 2018... buy tickets online at bryantlakebowl.com
